Mental toughness in #Sales and #PreSales is more important than all the tactics around what to say, when to say it, how to demo, when to follow up, etc. 🧠

A person’s inner beliefs, narratives, and mindset have a far greater impact on their ability to succeed in sales than any tactics.

In the constant uncertainty of sales, here is a mental toughness trick I learned from top sellers that helped me build and maintain optimism in the face of repeated rejections, sell millions of dollars of software to enterprise customers, and raise millions in venture capital financing.

At the end of each work day block out 5-10 mins, take out a physical journal and write the following prompts to journal about. 📄

  • Tomorrow’s date
  • The names of each person I am meeting with tomorrow.
  • What extra value might I create for each person?
  • How might they feel when I give them extra value?
  • How will I feel when I give them extra value?

I know it might sound cheesy, but when you do this every day, every interaction with prospects or customers becomes exciting because you genuinely know you can bring value to each person you interact with.

You are too creative to not think of ways to bring value to people.

You start to see the world through a lens of abundance and optimism. 💪
